He removed the old intake hose that goes from above the radiator to the airbox, then installed the new hose onto the airbox. Pete did a pretty simple Volvo cold air intake mod on his Volvo 850, using 100-mm flexible hose. Not sure what you mean by "normal modifications", but those are some basics, at least.Credit: Mangan2002 / CC BY-SA () Pete’s 850 Volvo cold air intake mod You might also want new internals for that kind of thing, but people have run stock internals on higher numbers than those. I don't know if iPD has a tune to match that goal, but ARD and BSR can help, iirc. I think it's about 285, but that's a seat-of-the-pants dyno comparing to my previous ones, and it's a daily driver with reliable power that comes on quick with the 15G stock turbo - I take the smile off the faces of beamer boys all the time.įor 350 HP, you'd probably want a do88 "Big Pack" intercooler and plumbing (or equivalent), 19T turbo, turboback exhaust, larger injectors (greens?), and either tune it yourself if you do that kind of thing, or a Stage 2 or 3 from either BSR, ARD or some other reputable tuner. ![]() It doesn't make 350 hp, but then again, it's an automagic, rated for about 310 hp max. My car has a RIP kit from do88, silicon hoses (both air and coolant) from Samco, Forge piston style compressor bypass valve (CBV), new Pierburg turbo control valve (TCV), and it's tuned to about 0.9 - 1 bar (~13 psi). Service the PCV system (lots of write-ups here at MVS on this, and the "Stage 0" concept). ![]() Get Bosch rotor/cap, Bougicord wires and Iridium plugs. ![]() New ignition components rotor, cap, wires, plugs.
